NEUROFEEDBACK TRAINING

A plan built from your qEEG's swLORETA analysis and your goals.

swLORETA Neurofeedback training begins after brain mapping, using the assessment findings to guide the next step. Each treatment plan is individually created based on an individual’s difficulties, measured brain function, and treatment goals. A truly individualized approach designed for better outcomes.

THE METHOD

TRAINING GUIDED BY YOUR RESULTS

Most neurofeedback approaches are 2-dimensional, using fewer sensors and limiting training to the area beneath each sensor. They use off-the shelf protocols that may or may not work

Coalition member clinicians use swLORETA neurofeedback, which sees the brain as the 3-dimensional organ it is. Improving function at its source. Protocols are unique for each person, based on their difficulties, 3-dimensional brain imaging and treatment goals.

This distinction matters, because individualized care leads to better outcomes.

WHAT TO EXPECT

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TRAINING SESSION

swLORETA Neurofeedback sessions are non-invasive and typically take place in a clinical setting. Here’s what a session may involve.

  • SETUP

Sensors are placed on the scalp using the same non-invasive approach used during the assessment. The system monitors brain activity in real time throughout the session.

  • FEEDBACK

As brain activity is recorded, the system provides feedback, often through audio and/or visual cues, based on the targets identified in the assessment. The session does not require you to complete tasks or talk through the process. Over time, the feedback guides and rewards the brain towards better function.

  • TRAINING

Sessions often run between 30 and 40 minutes, and training is cumulative. Changes may develop gradually over a series of sessions, with progress monitored at defined checkpoints along the way.

INDIVIDUALIZED PLANS

BUILT FROM YOUR RESULTS AND ADJUSTED OVER TIME

Each personalized swLORETA neurofeedback training plan identifies targets based on the networks, connectivity patterns and activity levels shown in the brain mapping assessment. Those targets help guide each session.

Coalition clinicians may adjust session plans based on the person’s goals, response and progress over time. Defined checkpoints may include follow-up recordings that compare current brain activity with the baseline established during assessment. When the data or clinical progress indicate a shift, the plan may be refined accordingly.

This approach allows the plan to evolve as the person’s brain activity and daily function change over time.

WHAT PEOPLE NOTICE

CHANGES THAT SHOW UP IN DAILY LIFE

swLORETA Neurofeedback training focuses on brain activity, while progress often shows up in practical, personal ways. Coalition member clinicians often describe progress in functional terms, such as attention, sleep consistency, emotional regulation, follow-through and general day-to-day functioning.

Some people report that it becomes easier to stay on task or to shift between tasks more effectively. Others may notice steadier sleep patterns, greater mental clarity or feeling less overwhelmed during stressful moments. Because each person starts from a different place, progress looks different for each individual.

The coalition’s approach begins with careful assessment and clinician review, followed by individualized training plans and defined checkpoints along the way. Progress may be tracked through functional changes in daily life and follow-up assessments when appropriate.

swLORETA neurofeedback training may be used alongside supports such as therapy, coaching or physician-directed care — including medication. Coalition member clinicians can coordinate with referring providers and provide clear summaries of defined checkpoints to support continuity of care.

This first step helps make the rest of the process more informed and individualized.
